B2S Linky - Schedules Week 5

Phew! Where has the time gone since last Wednesday?! Jeff and I went on a second honeymoon kind of thing this past weekend to Pensacola Beach, Florida. It was really nice to just relax, leave our phones in the hotel and chill on the beach. We both needed it and it's given me that boost to gear up for 2 weeks of inservice meetings before the kiddos come back.
Wait a minute, we are in week 5?! Holy cowabunga... we're halfway through with the Back to School linky! Crazy in a very good way :)

This week is all about schedules, which is something that I am currently a bit overwhelmed with. I'm typically the person who has everything organized and a place for this and that. Well, I'm here to admit it to all of you that, right now, this girl does not have it all together!

School schedules, now that's something I can deal with. Being a Life Skills teacher, I am constantly going to have people in and out of my room like woah! I heard an idea of a teacher using Velcro on ping pong balls to somehow keep track of when students were out of her room, instead of having a sign out sheet. Since my class theme isn't Forrest Gump or ping pong, I decided to put a twist on it for my room.

I fit right in!), so I'm going to use Krista Walldens' Ocean Commotion set and Ocean Animals, Scuba and Mermaid set to create a place on one of the walls in my classroom. I'm going to use different sea animals to represent different parts of the school, like the office, OT, PT, Speech, Nurse, etc. When a student leaves the classroom, s/he will just move their Velcro mermaid/merman to the area of the school where they will be. I will still have school professionals sign out students to keep a data record of when, where, and who was in/out of my classroom.

I'm really excited to see how this works out with my kiddos. I am hoping that it simplifies the "sign out" process, plus it'll give me a visual reference during any point in the day.

As far as a personal schedule, I'll let you know when I figure out how to manage, work, TpT and life. I've spent the last 8 months working 40+ hours a week on TpT stuff, so it will be different to focus on something else. However, I am super super excited to be back in the classroom! I really can't wait!

How do you manage schedules in your classroom?
