Thirty Minute Meal for Teachers { Hamburger Biscuits }

Hey ya'll! I'm so excited to be linking up with The Balanced Teacher for Thirty Minute Thursdays.

I am by no means a cook... and I don't really like to cook. My husband and I always joke that if we never met, I'd either be super fat from eating fast food all the time or, well, dead from not eating. I told you I don't like to cook. It just takes too long!

Even though I dislike cooking, there are a few things that I can cook and, at times, I'm pretty good at it. That means it's edible. One of my favorite things for Jeffrey and I to cook together is something he saw or made up, but it's absolutely delicious if you love hamburgers.

Here's all that you need:
Yep! Only three ingredients and it's ready in 30 minutes or less. So let's get started!
Start by cooking your hamburger meat. We freeze our meat in 1lb. packages / baggies for easier cooking.
While your hamburger is cooking, get our your cooking sheet and cooking spray. PS. This is what a real kitchen looks like... none of this beautiful, brand new cooking sheets. LOL You're getting the real deal here people!
Spray your pan so the biscuits don't stick.
These are the biscuits we use. You can use any brand or type of biscuit you'd like.
One by one, you'll want to flatten out each biscuit. Kind of like when you make your own pizza dough and you have to kneed it...
...so don't pull it too hard or this happens. And that's not what you want!
Flatten it out and place it on your already sprayed cooking sheet.
I always forget to turn the oven on, so if you haven't already... turn the oven on to 350 degrees.
Flatten them all out. I do the first 6 and then do the last 2 after these are filled up. You'll see what I mean.
In the meantime, keep on cooking your hamburger meat. You can add in onions, peppers, veggies... whatever else you'd like while you're cooking. We just use hamburger and season it.
Take your cheese...
...and break it in half.
Place each half of cheese onto one biscuit (as shown). You don't want to place it directly in the center because you'll be folding over the biscuit once you put the meat inside.
If you haven't already, chop up your hamburger meat...
...so that it's in little pieces.
This is when you can add seasoning. Again, you can add in any veggies you'd like while you're cooking the burger meat.
After you've seasoned the burger meat to your liking, you can grab a spoon and start spooning it on top of the cheese.
Fill them all up!
Once they're filled up, you can start folding them in half.
Push down on the edges to seal the hamburger inside.
It will look something like this.
Your cooking sheet should look like this once you've folded them all over.
Put them in the oven and let them cook.
Mid-cooking you'll want to flip them over so you don't burn them. Cook them until both sides are lightly toasted and browned... kind of how you would cook the biscuits.
Tada! We usually make macaroni and cheese or tator tots with this meal. I know, we're super healthy over here at the Mr. and Mrs. D household.

Here's an easy, quick recipe card for you to save and print to use in your own kitchen :)
They're absolutely delicious and I really hope that you love them as much as we do!

After you've tried them, come back and let me know what you think. I'd love to hear from you :)
