Last week I started a new teaching job! Super exciting, I know :) It feels so good to be back in the classroom and working with students.
Since having my position cut at the end of last year, figuring out what I wanted to do with my life was a little rough. I taught Extended School Year, but had been out of the classroom since the end of July. I worked on TPT a little bit through September and even started a jewelry shop on etsy with my madre. But I missed the classroom so much.
Then, TAADAAAA!! Within a week of my decision to look for full-time work, I landed this job and I'm so excited and happy about it. I'm a Resource Teacher for 5th graders. I love it. Absolutely love it.
Best part? I get my own classroom! The first week was a little overwhelming, but everyone was so welcoming and the school is just wonderful. Setting up my classroom was so much fun (I had forgotten how much fun it was!) and I hope my students enjoy it as much as I do.
Those are all pictures from Tuesday morning when I walked in. Everything on the walls is stuff the teacher left for me to use. Super sweet of her. She even left me a note. Adorable! I felt very supported, which is great since I'm coming in almost halfway through the year.
This was the inbetween-stage of decorating the room. Since these pictures, I've redone the word wall, added more bulletin board space and re-did all the already finished bulletin boards. I've added a multiplication board and a couple of other things.
There are a couple things left to do in the room, so the classroom reveal will come later this week!
